I just got home from dinner and drinks at GWAR Bar and my friends and I were discussing what factors contribute to the makeup of a good dive bar. I offered up the idea that you can always spot a good dive if there are Christmas lights put up inside the bar. I noted that there is usually graffiti or a collection of stickers on the bathroom walls. He said that it’s usually identifiable if you can’t tell whether or not the bar is actually open or there are no people inside. What do you guys think of when you think of your favorite dive bar?
